My work is grounded in psychodynamic relational psychotherapy. I also integrate cognitive behavioral, systems and art therapy approaches as needed.
Working from a psychodynamic relational approach means that I attend to our relationship, the unconscious process between us, and your personal experiences, dreams, memories, struggles, desires and hopes. This process helps us understand what needs to happen in order for you to experience greater freedom, effectiveness and pleasure in your life.
I have many years of experience helping individuals, families and groups, and supervising and training individuals working toward licensure as therapists. In addition to my work with individuals in Oakland, Berkeley and Castro Valley, I provide art therapy for groups in a pain clinic and presentations in a variety of settings.
